Ladies and gents, appels en pere, are you ready to pack the Toyota Cruiser again for another action-packed Innibos? Of course you are — let’s get planning. Because like every good road trip that needs to be lekker, it needs the best seat in the house.
Okay, let’s talk line-up.
Main Stage entertainment:
Thursday night kick-off at Innibos has become the rock theme evening, and this year is no different. The Huisgenoot Kick-Off Concert is bringing you Die Heuwels Fantasties, Van Pletzen, Die Piesangskille, Elvis Blue, Karlien van Jaarsveld and Ricus Nel.
Thursday is R250 per person and gates open at 10am — plenty of time to stroll, eat, drink, enjoy… and when the sun sets, it’s going to be lekker, my mense.
There is also the option to make it a proper kuier for the evening via the Kuiertafels. There are only 50 available per show, so get booking. On Thursday it’s R1 210 per table (does not include your entry ticket). Or you can jam into the Golden Circle area at R160 on top of your festival ticket.
Friday, baby — enter the lekkerness of the weekend, and the Jacaranda FM Concert is ready to make you purple of lekker IN WEES. Are you ready for this mix?
Juanita du Plessis, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Riaan Benade… and then they are going louder with Spoegwolf, Zaan Sonnekus and Fokofpolisiekar. What the hell? Yes, you read that right. All those artists on one stage, one evening.
So let’s talk seats, right? A kuiertafel is R1 810 (does not include your festival ticket), right in the zone. Or grab a Golden Circle ticket at R160 on top of your festival entry ticket.
Saterdag aand, we are all going to watch the Springboks take on England on those big screens on the main stage. It was such gees last year. Then it’s the big one — the kykNET Concert has more stars on stage than the sky on a cloudy night.
Appel, Francois van Coke, Brendan Peyper, Early B, Elandré, BlackByrd and many more! At 19:00 the stage kicks off — make sure you have your seat for the show.
But maybe you need a table for this night — at R2 110 (not including your festival entry ticket), or the Golden Circle at R210 on top of your entry ticket. Sounds like a plan!
Get real, Marley — have you seen what petrol costs?
Ja meneer, ek het gesien. But what is your ticket worth? Did you know Bryan Adams tickets for front and centre start at R7 684 for two people? Left of the stage front — R5 533. Doer bo in the galleries, you can try R4 610 for two people.
Then you still have to travel from Nelsparta to Pretoria — petrol, tolls. You still need to sleep somewhere that’s safe (if you don’t have family there), and you still have to drink and eat as well.
Who is calculating this? Because that is about car payment or house payment levels.
Okay, fine — it’s Bryan Adams. Legend rock star, but it is still one oke and his band. But now Innibos seems to be easier to reach, reg?
Let’s take a local concert.
Your ticket averages around R180 per person — cool, not bad. Then the little kilometres from your house to the venue (usually within the city limits of Nelsparta). You still have to drink and eat there as well. Tip the car guard. Sleep in your own bed.
You can budget about R1000 to R1500 per person if you include all of that. But that is just one band or artist — not multiple artists on multiple stages like Toyota Innibos.
Let’s look at what the kuiertafels will give you, because if you are on a mission to network with clients or kuier with maatjies, then this is for you.
One — there are only 50 tables per night available. When they are sold out (which happens every year), they are gone.
A kuiertafel seats 6 people per table. You have your own special reserved area in front of the main stage. You have entry to an exclusive bar and private bathroom, and it’s a smoke-free zone.
How does the reserved seating in Golden Circle work?
Well, it’s pretty easy — 4 chairs per row. No more carrying your own chair and smacking people in the face. There are only 540 seats available.
Thursday and Friday it’s R160 per person, and R210 on Saturday per person. Remember, this is an add-on you need to purchase with your festival ticket. Totally optional.
Parking your Toyota
Let this Nelspartan tell you — it turns into chaos when it’s Innibos.
You can, of course, Park and Ride directly from Ilanga Mall to the main festival terrain. We don’t have parking meters (that’s for the big oke cities), and it’s safe and it’s FREE.
Or you can be a laanie this year — parking on the festival terrain. This is recommended for those who are kuiering on the kuiertafels.
It’s R260 per day per car, but remember, this as well is limited and highly recommended.
Gaan groot or gaan huis toe
There are still some private pods available (losies), and this is lekker for the big corporate guys.
You have a perfect view, your own entry, your own bar, your own bathrooms. You can decorate it in your brand. You can dish out all the business merch that you can think of in this pod.
There are even waiters serving you. Lus for a pizza cone but don’t want to face the people? Order it — it will be delivered to your pod. Or some kerrie en rys?
