Listen to Goodby Lover’s Lane by Janie Bay while you are reading because you’ll want to know more.
When Jean du Plessis as he was known to his family and friends, but Jan Bloukaas, as South Africa knew him, passed away from a battle with cancer. There was no heart not broken. If you have seen the episode of “Net Mens”, then this will be self-explanatory. Jan Bloukaas recorded and released one last album before his passing, “GOD KAN” – another must listen to. Goodbye Lovers Lane – an ode to her good friend and artist Jean du Plessis, better known as ‘Jan Bloukaas’.
“This is a very sensitive subject, writing about someone close to you who has passed away. You want to
do it ‘right’, also for their family and friends. I enlisted my friend Hunter Kennedy to help me write this
one, and throughout the process, from start to finish, I feel we both understood the delicate nature of
this release,” says Janie.

This song has a beautiful melody. Janie sings of the friend that she has lost, the son his parents have lost, but most of all, if you have lost someone close to you, you’ll understand this song. I know this song comes deep within her heart, and she expressed it so beautifully. “Goodbye Lover’s Lane” is an anthem for the love we share here on earth and in heaven with those who never left our hearts.
“I feel like a lot of people miss Jean. I see it on his social media and I know people still listen to his music a
lot. I hope this song helps people remember him,” she adds.
Goodbye Lover’s Lane is a must listen but give Janie Bay a follow to hear the rest of her songs.
