Her voice is smooth, soft and calming. Her natural beauty will capture the minute you see her. And her songwriting will bring out the poet in you. Janie Bay has been on the music scene for years and with her latest single “Jammer” she will captivate new and regular listeners.
Janie Bay, who boasts career streams in excess of 1.5 million, returns with her new Afrikaans single “Jammer“. The single follows the trend of Janie embracing Afrikaans in her song-writing following the success of her recent hits “Amper Daar” and “Die Heelal” and is now available for download on all your favourite digital platforms.
Janie says that after she wrote the song, she instantly knew that this will be her next single release: “I wrote Jammer as an apology to someone that I hurt. I was processing the emotions around what happened for quite a while. Why is it so hard to apologize? When I eventually penned the lyrics, it flowed onto paper within minutes. I literally wrote it while I had my morning coffee.”
“Jammer” is a beautiful song, apologetic to the person she had hurt the most. Anyone can relate and I love that about Janie’s songwriting. It’s from her heart and soul. Her experiences, you don’t have to guess where her mind was at that stage. Another thing I love about Janie’s music is even though it’s Afrikaans, it’s not this ‘fake baby baby sokkie sokkie’ crap. It’s real music. If you don’t believe me check her song with Jan Bloukaas. Her work has just grown with her like the woman she has become from the dusty hills of Oppikoppi to the strong performer we see now.
