If you haven’t heard of The Amblers yet, you really need to pay attention right about now. This South African blues-rock duo has been making some sparks in the SA Music Industry and has recently released their official music video for their second EP, “Ratty Old Mo”.

The Amblers are compiled by Vocalist and Guitarist Justin Swart and acclaimed drummer, Jason Hinch. As both members have other projects they are involved in, this was only intended to be fun play.  However, the response they have received following their first EP “Dustling Man has proven that there is a hunger for the originality and honesty that The Amblers showcase.

The Amblers have managed to put together a pleasing combination of blues-rock melodies powered with passion and raw (but genuine) simplicity. “Ratty old Mo” is basically a story of how a man’s childhood had affected him as an adult. However, Justin feels it’s important that every listener should interpret it to their own life story.

The video was shot, directed and edited by Chase Beynon from Capital Collective, it was decided the minimalistic but visually captivating style of the video suited the band perfectly. It’s one of those videos that is so satisfying to watch that you would give it all of your attention, every time you watch it.

As of 25 June 2019, “Ratty old Mo” was number 1 on the KOVSIE Charts. Justin said in an interview that although the bar was set high with “Dustling man“, “Ratty old Mo” has already exceeded their expectations.

The Amblers are already working on their next EP and promised it would be released later this year together with a music video. Keep your eye out for that one!
