Tailor broke through onto the music scene in 2013 with her debut album “Dark Horse”. She captured the attention of the country with her single “Wolf” which was pretty much played on every radio station. Her powerful live performances just added fuel to the fire and spread. Not only is Tailor an amazing vocalist, her songwriting talent is also what sets her apart from the rest.
In 2015 she was nominated for another SAMA (South African Music Awards) for her second album “Light” and then another nomination for her third album “Trust Prt 1”. Just when you think she has topped, she brought even more music to our ears in the form of duos – one of the biggest being “Angels on a Razor” with Ed Kowalczyk’s (frontman of Live). She performed it live with Ed when he toured South Africa in 2015. She collaborated with Locnville on “Dreamcatcher”, Nakane Toure, The Muffinz and more.
Tailor then moved to London in 2018 after performing in the iconic Hammersmith Apollo in front of thousands of fans in Johnny Clegg’s Final Journey Tour. A loss for South Africa but also we gained to have a brilliant artist like Tailor to go international.
British fans have since celebrated Tailor’s outlandish stage performance in the infamous Bedford in Balham that made Ed Sheeran famous, the celebrated Halfmoon in Putney where The Who, U2, and Rolling Stones played and The Troubadour where Bob Dylan performed in his first show in London.
Tailor is touring South Africa during the months of April and May to mesmerize her fans and the rest of Mnzanzi with her music. She will perform songs from her 3 studio albums and other music she has created with other artists and producers alike.
A fan once asked Tailor why she was so quiet before her performance, and the young Tailor replied: “To save my voice, so I can scream on stage!”
