After Robot is not a new toy name or computer game, it’s a band based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. It’s a name you will remember once you’ve seen them and you will not confuse them with any other band. But After Robot is not the average band, it’s a mixture between rock, a stage production, a mind fuck of music that you can’t keep your ears (or eyes) from. They will make you boogie, headbang, rock out, sing out loud – all at the same time.
Meeting with After Robot a few months ago on their visit to the Lowveld I had the honour to finally have an interview with them and record it. Roan Jordaan who is on drums and percussion is the newest member of the 4 and he is local. Jacques Jacobs on bass is the manager of Empire Tattoos in Johannesburg. Joshua Pearlson on guitar is one cool music teacher and Cillford Bryan well you might have seen him around on TV commercials, he is a trained actor.
