I hear a lot of new music on a weekly basis, it’s a few and far in between that makes an impression and Pat McCay is one of them. This Cape Town homeboy with his handsome charms and new album “Ready” is all we need right now.

Pat’s music stirs the heart upwards, yet doesn’t shy back from the raw, difficult moments of his life. I’m loving “Ready” the title track, “Son” and “Shape Shifting”. He has been through a few ruff chapters in the book of life but he has come out stronger on the other side. This is the kind of artist you will most probably see at a music festival and fall in love with. First love with first listen kind of vibes.

“Ready” is an album for anyone who needs some music to calm their busy souls. I played this on a rainy autumn day in the Lowveld. And the gloomy day felt like a summers day – all because of McCay’s music. It’s uplifting, soothing and it almost like you can sing along to the songs in just a few minutes.

Pat McCay is another artist from Cape Town that is as unforgettable like Table Mountain. His impression on me is everlasting, from the first note to the last second.
